MACV-SOG (Military Advisory Command Vietnam – Studies and Observation Group) was a highly classified organization during the Vietnam War that ran deep penetration missions into other Southeast Asian countries to gather information and conduct combat operations against the North Vietnamese. The SOG warriors knew every mission had a very high probability of being their last one. These warriors laid the foundation for today’s special operations forces.
